How do I know this is truly a competitive league?
This league is being formed by kickballers that have played on a competitive level for many years and is working closely with kickball365.com to insure that the rules and commitment are true to competitive kickball.
Is it all co-ed or are there gender-specific leagues?
NKL has three main goals. First, to provide the highest level of competitive kickball. Second, to provide the best atmosphere possible for meeting new people, making great friends and networking. Third, to give all of our players a break from the grueling work week they all desperately need. In order to meet all of those criteria, we only offer co-ed leagues at this time.
How much does it cost?
Individual registration is $75 per individual for the Champions League, $50 per individual for the Premier League. Teams are welcome to find sponsorships that can cover a fraction or the entire team cost. Please note that in some areas fields and operating costs are significantly more expensive, and registration fees may need to be adjusted accordingly.
What is included with my membership?
A team jersey, bar and food specials (vary per sponsor bar), paid referees who understand the rules of the game (Champions League Only), all equipment (by division), season parties, awesome social events, divisional web pages and lots of fun!
Where can I play?
Divisions will be starting in several areas of Northern Virginia and DC as well as other areas based on player interest. Please fill out our questionnaire on the contact page to give us your input.
What is the Champions League and how can I sign my team up?
The Champions league is a competitive, world-class kickball league. Make no mistake, this is kickball at its best. The rules are varied slightly to maximize kicking, scoring and excitement. Rosters are limited to 20 players. Since this is a competitive league, the National Kickball League reserves the right to deny registration. To read the full Champions League Rules click here.
What is the Premier League and how can I sign up?
The Premier League is a non-competitive, world-class social league for people who are serious about meeting new people and making great friends. The rules are varied slightly to maximize fun and socializing. Rosters are limited to 25 players. Since this is a social league, the National Kickball League reserves the right to deny registration for people who take it too seriously. To read the full Premier League Rules click here.
If I form my own team, are there any minimum or maximum requirements for the number of players?
Yes, each Champions League team is required to have a minimum of 16 players and a maximum of 20 players. We gotta be realistic with the numbers here folks. Any more than 20 and you’re busting at the seams, any less than 16 and you’re risking forfeits. Each Premier League team is required to have a minimum of 20 players and a maximum of 25 players.
When I form my team, will there be any random individuals added to my roster?
The Champions League is currently setup so that entire teams can register. Absolutely no free agents will be added to your roster, as long as you meet the minimum number of players. There will be an opportunity for individuals to sign up to be added to for a Champions League, but if there are no spots available, they will be placed onto a recreational league team.
How long are the seasons?
Seasons will run a minimum of 8 weeks (including the conference Championship tournament). NKL will be encouraging longer seasons, but have to stay within field permit regulations which normally last 12 to 13 weeks.

How many officials will call each game?
There will one paid official for each regular season game. Each opposite scheduled team must supply one Official for 1st and 3rd base.
Can we alter our official NKL jerseys to make them even more awesome?
Yes! With official NKL approval, your NKL jerseys can be altered based on the guidelines set forth in the rules. Some teams have stenciled nicknames, tie-died them, cut off the sleeves or even the risqué bare midriff.
